Lucia "Lucy" Alvarado

March 18, 1957 – May 20, 2025

Lucia “Lucy” Alvarado, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest on May 20, 2025, at the age of 68. She passed peacefully at her home in Deltona, Florida, surrounded by the love and comfort of her daughters and grandchildren.

Born on March 18, 1957, in Queens, New York, Lucy was the cherished daughter of the late Enrique Ruiz and Lucia Ramos. A devoted homemaker, Lucy held a bachelor’s degree and poured her heart into creating a warm, welcoming home filled with music, laughter, and love. She had a deep passion for dancing, arts and crafts, decorating for the holidays, and spending time with her family and close friends. Some of her fondest memories were made while traveling with her beloved sisters, Maria and Esther.

Lucy was the loving mother of Rosemarie Alvarado (and her significant other Ramon Sarete) and Erica Marie Matos (and her significant other Trevor Bailey). She was the proud and adoring grandmother of Emani Star Escobar, Chloe Rae Sarete, King Che’Emory Bailey, Trezjuor Brielle’ Bailey, Raelyn Rose Sarete, and Saige’ Noa Escobar.

She is survived by her siblings Luis Ruiz, Osvaldo Ruiz, Ed Ruiz, Maria Vasquez, Esther Carpio, and Noel Ruiz. She was predeceased by her brothers Raymond Ruiz and Daniel C. Ruiz. Lucy also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29th, from 3 PM to 7 PM at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, 315 Conklin Street, Farmingdale, NY 11735.

A funeral mass will take place on Friday, May 30th, at 11 AM at St. Kilian Parish, 485 Conklin Street, Farmingdale, NY 11735, followed by burial at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum, 2030 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported and joined in celebrating Lucy’s beautiful life.
