

Marge is survived by her sister, Eileen Tyler (Jim), and her brother, George Steinbach (Kathi). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own children: Tina Stietzel (Chuck), Tracey Wells (Larry), Bob Tyler (Regina), Jeff Tyler (Melissa), and Jason and Thomas Steinbach.
She was blessed with many great-nieces and great-nephews whom she adored: Jessica, Erica, and Andrew Stietzel; Paula and Paige Wells; Brooke, Jenna, Brady, and Jake Tyler; and Zach and Logan Tyler.
Marge was predeceased by her parents, George and Margaret Steinbach, and her beloved aunt, Emma Baierlein.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Marge spent her early childhood on Central Avenue, surrounded by cousins and extended family. At the age of nine, she moved with her family to Bethpage, where she grew up and attended Bethpage High School. An active and athletic student, she enjoyed participating in sports throughout her school years.
She attended Dickinson State University in North Dakota, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education.
Marge enjoyed a successful career as a physical education teacher at Hicksville Junior High School, where she taught for more than 35 years. She also coached numerous junior high and varsity sports teams, including field hockey, basketball, and softball. Through her dedication as both a teacher and coach, she positively influenced generations of students.
Marge devoted much of her time to her family. She started numerous family traditions, hosted Christmas Eve gatherings and was notorious for her puzzles and games. She was a loyal supporter of her nieces, nephews and their families. She attended many sporting events, dance recitals, and cheerleading competitions. You always knew when Aunt Marge was in attendance, her enthusiastic voice and encouragement could never be missed.
Marge also had a special love for her Yorkshire Terriers, who were treasured members of her family throughout her life. Over the years, she shared her home and heart with Orion, Nikki, Tiffany, Diana, Ross, Eileen, Maggie, Tiffany, Sammy, and Ellie. She showered them with affection, attention, and care. Her dogs brought her joy and companionship, and each held a special place in her heart.
Visitation will be held at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, 315 Conklin Street, Farmingdale, NY 11735, US, on June 14, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. James' Catholic Church, 80 Hicksville Rd, Seaford, NY 11783, US, on June 15, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
Entombment will follow at St. Charles / Resurrection Cemeteries, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735, US, on June 15, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
Marge will be remembered for her dedication to education, her love of sports, her devotion to family, her generous spirit, and the joy and encouragement she brought to all who knew her.
