Richard Joseph McCarty

McCarty, Richard Joseph, of Bethpage passed away July 14, 2024. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Marsha. Loving father of Richard (Blanca) and Michael (Jennifer). Adored grandfather of Kristin, Aidan, Katelyn, and Erin. Dear brother of Michael (Marilyn) and Maureen Bacon. Cherished by his “grand-puppy” Jameson. Richard was kind, caring, proud and very humble. He was loved by everyone who met him, due to his easygoing and kind personality.  Richard’s family was the light of his life. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and he especially enjoyed watching them excel in their academic and athletic endeavors. His happy place was the Perico Bay Club in Florida, where he and Mickey have been spending winters for the last 16 years. Richard also enjoyed rocket launches, Nascar, and reminiscing about his time at Grumman Aerospace. He will forever be missed. The family will receive visitors Thursday, July 18th, 4-8 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Broadway, Bethpage. Funeral Mass Friday, July 19th, 10 am at St. Martin of Tours RC Church in Bethpage. Interment following at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
