Lamb, Richard F., “Richie”, longtime Farmingdale resident passed away October 22, 2022 at the age of 93. Proud Korean War Navy Veteran. Beloved and devoted husband of 68 years to Anne. Loving father of Anne Weger (James), April Lamb, Tammy Brannigan (Gene) and Holly Sebes (Michael). Adored grandfather of Richard, Patrick, Robert, Morgan (Kyrstin), Nicolette Laux (Adam), Amy, Sooner, Alaina and the late Eric. Cherished great-grandfather Amyrah. Dear brother of the late Frank Lamb, Steve Blumenberg and brother-in-law to Rita Gavin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Longtime, Devout Parishioner of St. Kilian RC Church. Richard was the true definition of a family man and did whatever he could for his family. He was a very hard worker, even when he wasn’t at work, you would find him fixing things around the house. Richie enjoyed painting the house and the ladder and floor and if you didn’t watch where you were going, you may have been painted also. He always believed that if you wanted a task done right, you had to do it yourself. He instilled in his children not to take short cuts in anything they do. Richie was quiet, simple, innocent, humble, loyal, honorable, regimented and always did the right thing. Although he was quiet, he had a quick wit that had everyone laughing. Richard spoiled his wife rotten and was her primary caretaker until recently. He loved vacationing every year in Cape Cod with his wife and visiting his daughters. Richie loved the color blue, the beach and was very patriotic. He will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 28th, 11am at St. Kilian RC Church. Interment with military honors following at Calverton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Richard’s memory to St. Kilian Parish; 485 Conklin Street, Farmingdale or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research; michaeljfox.org.
