

Robert “Bob” Fackner, was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 25, 1940 one of five children of the late Margaret and Walter Fackner. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maureen, and children John (Sara), Michael (Jill), Jayne (Steve), and his four grandchildren, Jake, Nolan, Sean, and Gavin. He also leaves behind a sister, Judy and many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss his kindness and warmth.
After his time in the US Navy, he attended John Jay University and joined the New York City Fire Department in 1967 primarily with Bushwick Tonka Truck 124 and ended his career as a NYC Fire Marshall. He was known for his courage, strength, and dedication, earning him 3 medals, one of which was presented by Mayor Kock, for saving a child from a burning home in 1978. He was a terrific cook and happily made dinner for the firehouse and at home.
Bob lived a full life and appreciated his time of service for the FDNY and retirement, his laughter and love will be remembered by all whom knew him.
