Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Bird Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one.    Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Tia Marie Bird Sullivan
 US Marine.  We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. My heart is so heavy and sad, Tia was an amazing, bright, inspirational person! She was wise beyond her years. I had Tia in my tenth grade biology class, she always came to class with a big smile, I truly enjoyed her. I am so proud of her for becoming a marine and serving our country! My thoughts and prayers are with her family. Rest in peace Tia.

My words are not adequate to express the sorrow I feel for your loss.Â Â Â  I have known Tia since she was in my daughter's kindergarten class at Gardiners Avenue School in Levittown.Â Â SheÂ was always a ray of sunshine with the most beautiful smile on her face.Â  From pool parties in our backyard to birthday parities at Chuck E Cheese, Tia was always smiling from ear to ear.Â Â Â  Beautiful on the inside as well as the outside, her spirit was infectious.Â  My heart goes out to her Father Matt and her siblings and just hope that the love of their family and friends will help them through the heartache.Â  IÂ know her Mother is proud of what sheÂ achieved in her short life and she can rest in peace along side of her in Heaven.Â  Tia was an inspiration to everyone around her,Â  I am so blessed and lucky to have known her and will keep her spirit alive.Â  You have to believe that Tia was here for a reason and will forever be missed.Â

THE BROKEN CHAIN
We little knew that morning
that God was going to call your name,
in life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide,
and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Sometimes people come into our lives for a short time, but they leave an indelible mark. Tia was that type of person. Her and our son Jamie dated for a short period of time. The day we met her it was like she was a sunburst. She had a sweetness about her and a dazzling smile. She was a beautiful person. Although we only knew you a short time, we loved you then and we love you now. Rest In Peace my sister Marine. You will always live in our hearts.

The time we spent together, were some of the happiest moments of my life. Never had you hesitated to go above and beyond, to make sure I was taken care of. Youâ€™ll always have a special place in my heart Tia.

I never knew you as Tia, but I met you as Bird.
We got to watch each other grow in that tiny nest of ours at Parris Island. Upon the chaos, you were someone who could make the pain bearable, make the time pass by faster, and even transform the intensity into a laugh. You and I got caught laughing right after we boxed each other in bootcamp, so we had to high five each other during our personal IT session. Not everyone would be able to understand how you were able to laugh things off with me during a bad time...but I'll always understand. I'll always remember you.

We didnâ€™t know you well, Tia, but the few times we met you were warm, engaging and fun.  Rest peacefully, young friend, our hearts are with you.  Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
