Barbara Lynn Bradshaw, 69, of Fayetteville passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, after a six month battle with cancer. She was born on January 19, 1952, the youngest daughter of Edgar Tolly Shuck and Mary Alice Martin. In 1970 she graduated from Fayetteville High School. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Price; her brother, Richard Shuck, of New Plymouth, Ohio; and two sisters, Rebecca Corwin of Pataskala, Ohio, and an infant, Dolores. She is survived by her beloved husband, Kim, of Fayetteville; one daughter, Angela (Casey) Barrows; and two grandchildren: Jazmine Barrows, and River Mayfield, with whom she shared a special relationship, all of Richmond, Virginia; one brother, Robert (Kathleen) Shuck of Catlett, Virginia; one sister, Betty (Richard) Wilson of Bradenton, Florida; sister-in-law, Emma Jean Shuck of New Plymouth, Ohio, and numerous nephews and nieces whom she loved dearly. Barbara was a life-long resident of Fayetteville, proud of being a professional Secretary who served as Administrative Assistant to several notable employers in the coal industry, as well as the former Long-Airdox, Mt. Olive Correctional Center, and thirteen years as Treasurer for the City of Mt. Hope, West Virginia. She loved her dogs, her simple home and lifestyle: gardening, canning, nurturing her many houseplants, old-time country music, fishing, watching her bluebird`s nest, taking drives in Greenbrier County, which she said her mommy always called “God’s country”, fresh seafood, and a part of her very soul, the beaches and sunsets of South Carolina. The family would like to thank Hospice of Southern West Virginia for their incredible support and care during the last days of her life. In lieu of flowers, please make all donations to the Home-Based Care Team at PO Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25801. Dear Family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Barbara & I were best friends in high school. Even though we took different paths in our lives whenever we would see each other it was like the years would fall away & we would be best friends again. I remember when she came to my mom's wake I saw her in line & I could see the love & compassion in her eyes. When she hugged me I instantly felt comforted. Today I got out my yearbook to see what she had written in it. She told me she loved me & felt we were close enough to be sisters. My heart just ached & the tears fell. I loved her too.
