Born on May 13, 1928 at Manchester, NH, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Amy Louise Smart Havens.
Barbara was a member of Fayetteville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, animals, and loved birds. Her greatest joy was raising her family and spending time with them.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two of her sons, Rodney Powers and Larry Powers.
Left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 65 years, Roy Emerson Neal Sr.; son, Arthur (Donna) Powers; daughters, Charlotte (Keith) Holly and Vicki O’Brien; sons: Roy Neal Jr., David Neal, and Ronald (Teresa) Neal; grandchildren: Roy (Stephanie) Neal III, Jennifer Cassidy, Amy (Scott) Bolen, Amanda Neal, Amy (Ryan) Alton, Hannah Neal, Jamie Powers, Lori Powers, Eddie O’Brien, Patrick O’Brien, and Kelly O’Brien; great-grandchildren: Dylan, MaKayla, Calleigh, and Reagan; and great-great grandchild, Ryden Bolen.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Rev. Morris Nutter and Rev. Jesse Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville.
The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral at the funeral home on Wednesday.
