Ernest Scarbrough

Ernest Richard “Ricky” Scarbrough, 68, of Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Beckley VA Medical Center. Born on May 12, 1948 at Fayetteville, he was the son of the late Wesley Edmond and Margaret Frances Simms Scarbrough. Ricky was a US Army Vietnam veteran. He retired from the WV State Road. He enjoyed woodworking and building things, especially for his dream home. But, most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Andrea Dawn Scarbrough; brothers: Darrell, Johnny, Larry, Gary, Charles, and Max; and sister, June Sutton Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Linda Richards Scarbrough of Fayetteville; children: Jennifer (Billy) Dunn of Jonesville, NC, Richard Scarbrough and Daniel (Amy) Scarbrough, all of Fayetteville; his precious grandchildren: Kayla Dunn and Tyler Dunn, Nicholas Scarbrough, Hunter Scarbrough, Angelina Scarbrough, Travis Scarbrough, Trent Scarbrough, and Kaylee Scarbrough; brothers, Kenneth Scarbrough and Michael Scarbrough; and sisters: Karen (Tillman) Slaughter and Marilyn (Jesse) Richards. Graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the Scarbrough Family Cemetery, 1586 Bachman Road, Fayetteville, WV.
