BECKWITH – Gloria Jean Myers Treadway Jordan, 84, of Beckwith passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at CAMC Memorial Division, Charleston, WV surrounded by her family.

Born on July 31, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude Myers. Gloria was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Gloria’s devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her final days and ultimately gave her peace. She was a member of Dothan Missionary Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Alton Treadway; brothers: Corwin “Punk” Myers, Delbert Myers, Jim Myers, Guy Myers, Billy Myers, and Lester Myers; sisters: Mildred Harrah, Jeanette Lucas, Flavia Cole, Donevia Akers, and Betty Henson; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Gloria was blessed with a large and loving family. Survivors include her devoted husband, Lloyd Thomas “LT” Jordan; daughters: Belma and Larry Johnson, Judy and John Johnson, Lee Ann and Lee Myles, Tamara “Tammy” and George Johnson, and Louise and Duane Rakes; step-children: Krenia and Bobby Jones, Joan and Vern DeLung, and Duane and Carissa Jordan; sister-in-law: Naomi Myers of Beaver. Gloria leaves behind a host of grandchildren: Rick Johnson, Billy Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Mel Whitlock, Duane Rakes II, Stacey Ellison, Emily Hart, Sarah Coffey, Molly Rakes, and Katie Myles; step-grandchildren: Joshua DeLung, Cole Stencil, Hunter Jones, Danielle Jordan, Stephanie Honeycutt, Miranda Stencil, Jessica Johnson, Samantha Clarke, and Janelle Presley; 19 great-grandchildren; and 12 step-great grandchildren, who she took pride in.

Gloria’s final wishes were to live for “those kids” and she fought hard to do just that. Being the youngest of twelve, she leaves behind a host of very special nieces and nephews and one special great, great niece, Sydnie Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Pastor Lum Toney officiating. Interment will follow at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

I just wanted to share one of my memories with you. One weekend, dad, mom, Jeannie, and I were going up to Mary Lee's. I was in the back with Jeannie and I said I had a headache and the next thing I know, mom and Jeannie were opening their purses offering me a whole pharmacy of pills. I told them that just an aspirin would do. I remember always laughing when I was around her. She will be missed. My love and prayers to you all.

Prayers for all of the family. Aunt Jeanie was greatly loved, and will be greatly missed. She was there to comfort me when my first husband passed. Her’s was the first face I saw, and the first arms that embraced me upon my return home after receiving the news. She gave me strength to get through that difficult time, and I will never forget it. She was a very strong presence in my life as I was growing up and I love her dearly.
