Jacqueline Yvette Britton, a lifetime resident of Fayetteville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 28, 2017, after a long hard fought battle with breast cancer. Jackie was born on July 31, 1954 and was the life-mate of Audwin W. Fruit, of Minden, WV, for 40 years. She was a homemaker, avid reader, and most importantly a loving mother to all. Jackie’s most precious jewels were her grandchildren, Hunter and Patience Elizabeth McCoy, and her new grand baby to come. She was preceded in death by her parents: John Thomas and Elizabeth Pearl Britton; a sister, Louise Thompson; a brother, Roosevelt Britton; her brother-in-law Gary Brinson; and, Percy and Alva Lee Fruit. She is survived by her children: Jonathan (Shalane) Britton-Fruit, Melissa Fruit, and Steven Fruit; seven sisters: Evelyn Saunders, Ardelia Britton, June Britton, Joyce Britton,Toni (Gary) Brinson, Michelle (Carl) Spinner; and four brothers: John T. Britton III, James L. (Brenda) Britton, Karl Britton, and Anthony “Freddie” Britton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family, friends, and others whose lives Jackie touched are invited to Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, 350 W. Maple Avenue, Fayetteville, WV 25840, from 12pm-2pm on June 3, 2017, to reminisce and celebrate Jackie’s life. A dinner will be held following the service at the Gospel Lighthouse Church, 222 King Avenue, Fayetteville, WV 25840, from 2:30pm-5pm.
