John I want to thank you and Shelby for always being there for us boys. You always treated us like family and tried to keep us in line. We were always welcome in your home. Thanks for always setting the biscuits out. We always knew where to find them. You were a wonderful man and will be sadly missed.

John I wanted to thank you and Shelby for always making me feel like family. I remember when I was younger I would stay Saturday nights and then go to church with you all and Grandma Jones the next morning which I loved.
I want to thank you for taking care of my big sister, you have been an amazing father to her. You have always been there for anyone who my have needed anything and you took care of everyone. I love you, and my babies love you. You have always treated them like your own grandbabies and I cannot thank you enough for that. We love and miss you greatly.

I have such fond memories of John and all the children growing up together with my children. We all lived in Ames Heights. Seems like it was only yesterday. My heart is sadden by John's passing.

Uncle John was my mom's big brother but he kind of took on the role of family patriarch. We didn't get to meet our grandfather,Lee Ora, and so i feel that John naturally fell into that role. He was the one who made sure to keep in touch with all of us through aunt Shelby, and was there for any of us who needed him. He may have looked like a bear of a man, strong and handsome, but inside he was a teddy bear, sweet and gentle. Generous to a fault and what a cook! The world is a colder, more lonely place with out him in it. I believe what Gods word says about what happens after the death of our bodies...to be absent from the body and present with the Lord,so I know in my heart uncle John is with gramma Jones, his son,Lee, my mom ,Shirley, my son,Hunter, and all of the family and friends who have gone on to paradise before us. And so i know we will meet again uncle John! Give them all hugs for us and keep them full of laughter and love until we can all be there for our final family reunion! ❤

John was a great father, husband and the best daddy in-law to my best friend. He was always so kind to me. I remember one time he took a bunch of us to tudors and then went on a road trip and I’ll never forget how much fun he made the whole day. He was always so welcoming to me. He will greatly be missed. We love you John and the whole family. Love and prayers for all of you 💙 RIP ❤️

Dear Daddy in law. I love you so much. From day one, you always treated me like your daughter. I can never thank you enough for welcoming into the biggest, most lovin-est, huggin-est family I have ever met. You were loved by everyone who knew you. Thank you for raising the best man I’ve ever met. I will miss you everyday. My heart hurts. I just wanna say, Thank you for being my dad.
