My heart is broken and the regrets are overwhelming that I let the years fly by without reconnecting with Terry. We had a brief encounter at the Fayetteville Walmart nearly 15 years ago and we promised to stay in touch. Life got in the way. Terry and I weren't only classmates--he was my closest guy friend during our elementary and middle school years. The cemetery in Ansted separated our homes and we often walked from school together. He and I were safety patrols during fourth grade and we felt so important as we led the walk line. We spent hours talking about our dreams and aspirations. Even at that young age, Terry's integrity, compassion, and overall bright outlook for life were apparent. I pray that the Lord will surround his family with comfort and peace at this horrible loss and that everyone who knew him has similar precious memories of a truly great man.

Terry was a great model for how to work, how to behave, how to play, in short - how to live. I have known few people so dedicated to doing everything well. He will be missed but his memory and his example will carry on.

I worked with Terry on many jobs what a pleasant time we shared he was a very thoughtful never got upset and was a perfectionate stay with each job till it was done. Since I was a swimming instructor T.R. would ask me what the best way to swim in a marathon was so I asked him how he was going to swim in it ? he said the dog paddle or on his back , I replied oh terry u will take a long time to cover the 1 mile swim u need to use the American crawl, he replied I don't know that stroke , he said he would get buy [ ok ] I think he told me everyone was finished with the race when he got done with the swimming part never got excited at all and had no disappointments . I will miss him greatly my prayers for ur family David Grigsby [ GRIZZLY ]

My teen years were better because of Terry. His constant smile and encouraging words assured me I had a best friend and a fun cousin. He was one of the best! To his family, I pray that you know the arms of our gracious God holding you close.
