Ann Clare Muir

The former Ann Neubrand was born September 23, 1941, in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of William and Madeline (Reuter) Neubrand. She married Darrell, the love of her life, on May 19, 1962, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Le Mars. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in nearby Remsen. Ann received her nursing diploma from St. Catherine’s Hospital School of Nursing in Omaha, Nebraska the following year. She went on to become a Registered Nurse and followed the call of helping others throughout her life.

Ann was a member of St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church in Ormond Beach. She enjoyed supporting Darrell’s many years of involvement and leadership of the Flagler County Marine Corps League. Ann was honored for her support with a Distinguished Citizen award in 2022. She was also an avid sports fan and loved the Miami Dolphins, especially Dan Marino; NASCAR and Jeff Gordon, along with the Miami Marlins and Florida Gators, where all three of her children attended.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Sonny Neubrand, Denny Neubrand, and Chuck Neubrand; her mother and father-in-law, Vincent and Oliva Muir; a brother-in-law, Gerald Muir and a sister-in-law, Germaine Cashman.

In addition to Darrell, Ann is survived by her three children: Mark A. Muir and his wife Laura of Palm City, FL; Ellen M. Moore and her husband Ted of Jacksonville, FL; and Donna J. Pinckney of Tallahassee, FL; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren with one more due in early 2027; her brother, Don Neubrand and his wife Mary Lee of Le Mars, IA; sisters-in-law Rochelle A. Jones and Lisa M. Ruprecht of Overland Park, KS, and Sandy Neubrand of Lake Wales, FL; plus numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida 32136, on September 4, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Brendan Catholic Church, 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd, Ormond Beach, Florida 32176, on September 5, 2026, at 11:00 am.
