

Aram Bazarian passed away July 5th, 2023, at the age of 91. He was born in Watertown, Massachusetts, May 15th, 1932 where he spent most of his childhood. Shortly after high school Aram enlisted in the Massachusetts Air National Guard in 1948, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant at the age of 17. Shortly after he transferred to the US Marine Corps in 1951 during the Korean War.
After military service, Aram was determined to be a successful, self-made man. With incredible hard work and perseverance, he went on to own multiple businesses including supermarkets, restaurants, and night clubs.
As his success grew, he developed a passion for thoroughbred horse racing and ultimately bought a thoroughbred farm in Ocala, Florida where the 160-acre farm boarded and trained racehorses. During this time, his own horses had great success winning multiple stakes races up and down the east coast.
Aram was also involved and donated to many charitable organizations during his life, including the Salvation Army, St. James Armenian Church of Watertown, and Catholic Diocese of Boston.
He retired to Palm Coast, Florida from Massachusetts 23 years ago.
Aram is survived by his daughter, Valerie Sara Maher; sons, Avedis Bruce Bazarian, Aram Bazarian Jr., and sister, Joanne Balgochian. He has six grandchildren, Jason Maher, Krista Maher Moura, Benjamin Bazarian, Zachary Bazarian, Alex Bazarian, Jordan Bazarian and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Martin, Harry and Matthew Joseph.
A visitation for Aram will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida 32136. Following the visitation will be a graveside service with military honors at 2:00 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218.
