

Our beloved mother, Colleen Janis Dunton, 82, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025 at her daughter’s home in Flagler Beach, Fl with family by her side. Born in Fort Lee, NJ on November 24, 1942. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, known for her beautiful smile, gentle spirit, and unwavering love. She filled all our lives with so much joy and unconditional love, she was always there putting family first. She leaves behind a void that can never be filled.
She met the love of her life, James Dunton Jr. in 1963 and married him after only dating 3 weeks! They had two children, Natalie Deloge & James Dunton III. Colleen spent most of her professional years as a human resource manager in banking.
She resided in Palm Coast, Florida for 14 years and was a member and Eucharistic minister for Santa Maria del Mar church in Flagler Beach. Previously she lived in Destin, Fl where she moved as a young teen and graduated from Choctawhatchee H.S. In Ft. Walton Beach, Fl.
Colleen is predeceased by her parents, Harold J Bowers and Janis Muriel Gastineau (Destin), Step- Father, Johnny Destin, husband, James A Dunton Jr., brother, Michael Bowers, great-grandson Landen Prestwood. She is survived by her children, Natalie Deloge and her husband, Leo Deloge and James A. Dunton III and his wife, Stacie Dunton, grandchildren, Kristen Vuknic, Ashten Prestwood, Dylan Prestwood, Alexis Ruth, Leo Deloge III, Logan Deloge, Lydia Clabby, Tara Lucas, Coy McKenna and great-grandchildren, Bishop Vuknic, Bryce Vuknic, Evan Lee, Kayla Lee, Dylan Lee and several others. As well as several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Her celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 13th, 4:00 pm at Craig Flagler Funeral Home located 511 Old Kings Road S. Flagler Beach, Fl and immediately following the service we will have a special “toast” to Colleen at one of her favorite local spots the Flagler Beachfront Winery at 611 N. Ocean Shore Blvd Flagler Beach .
