Ormond Beach, Florida,
passed away on May 6th, 2017
after a courageous battle
against cancer. Diana was
born in Brooklyn, New York,
on July 25, 1938, to John and
Alma Ruhs. She was a
longtime resident of West
Islip, New York, before
retiring in 2001 to Ocala,
Florida, and finally to Ormond Beach in 2014.
While living in Ocala, Diana enjoyed her
volunteer time at Monroe Regional Medical
Center and the Marion County Animal
Center. She loved her family, friends and
traveling. Left to cherish her memory is her
husband of 54 years, Doug; daughter Suzanne
(Philip); son Douglas Jr. (Ellie); three
grandchildren, John, Michael and Summer;
sister Joan (Walter); and two nieces and a
nephew. Diana was diagnosed with cancer one
year ago. She fought it with everything she
had. Cancer did NOT win this fight as there is
no cancer in Heaven. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made in her memory to
Halifax Health Hospice, Ormond Beach.
