A loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished sister, Earlene will be remembered for her kind heart, loving spirit, and the joy she brought to those fortunate enough to know her.
Earlene was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky, to the late James and Thelma Smith Welch. She was Baptist by faith and lived a life filled with love for her family, simple pleasures, and memorable adventures.
Earlene enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether taking a leisurely walk or riding her bicycle. She also found great pleasure in reading and cooking, especially when it meant preparing something special for those she loved. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed cheering on the Detroit Lions, Milwaukee Brewers, and Iowa Hawkeyes.
One of Earlene's greatest adventures was traveling the open road with her beloved husband, Walter. Together, they traveled more than 110,000 miles on his motorcycle, exploring the beauty of the United States and creating countless treasured memories along the way. Those journeys reflected her adventurous spirit and the special bond she shared with her husband.
Above all, Earlene treasured her family. Her love, devotion, and the many wonderful memories she leaves behind will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Earlene is survived by her beloved husband, Walter Stanwick; her two sons, Donald and Philip Stanwick; her brother, David
Welch and his wife, Linda; and her sister, Charlene and sister-in-law, Diane Welch. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Earlene's life was a beautiful journey filled with love, laughter, adventure, and cherished moments. Though her journey on earth has come to an end, the love she shared and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
