Born in Toana, Virginia, Emma was the cherished daughter of the late Hadden and Jessie Mae Edwards Barrow. She spent her early years in Virginia before moving to Daytona Beach, Florida, and eventually making Bunnell her lifelong home.
Known affectionately by many as "GG," Emma dedicated more than 30 years of her life as a teacher's aide at Bunnell Elementary School. She found great joy in nurturing and encouraging generations of children, leaving a lasting impact on countless students, colleagues, and families through her kindness, patience, and gentle spirit.
A devoted member of Refuge Bible Church, Emma's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She had a deep love for history and biblical literature, spending many peaceful hours reading and growing in her knowledge of God's Word. She was also gifted with her hands, finding joy in quilting and crocheting beautiful keepsakes that will continue to warm the hearts and homes of those she loved.
Emma embraced life's adventures with enthusiasm. She enjoyed traveling and treasured her journeys throughout England, where she visited historic landmarks including Stonehenge and Windsor Castle. At home, she could often be found listening to the timeless music of Elvis Presley, whose songs brought her great happiness.
Above all else, Emma's greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, proud great-grandmother, and treasured great-great-grandmother whose unconditional love, unwavering support, and quiet strength were the foundation of her family. Her legacy of compassion, faith, and selfless devotion will live on through the many lives she touched.
