Felicita “Fela” D. Perez of Palm Coast passed away peacefully at Grand Oaks Nursing Home Wednesday, August 8, 2018. Fela was born to Eladio Diaz and Susana Mercado in Santurce, Puerto Rico, on May 12, 1926. She moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1956. For many years, Felicita worked in housekeeping at Long Island College Hospital. She finally married her long time love, Rafael Perez in 1990. In 2010, after the passing of her loving husband, she moved from Bronx, New York to Palm Coast, Florida. Fela loved watching Novelas, solving crossword puzzles and word searches, walking, and listening to music, especially “Trios”. Fela was an active grandmother to her grandchildren. Fela is survived by her loving daughters Alicia C. Sabater and Rosa Lydia Clemente, her grandchildren, Yvette Sabater-Lenk, Darrel Lee Santiago, Venus Santiago, Jasmin Rosado, Luis Antonio Rosado Jr, Rocio Clemente, Tamara Ferrer, Tahaira Ferrer, Tatayana Ferrer, Marcus Torres, and Bianca Alicia Marte. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Dakai Rosado, Devin Lee Santiago, Jaylin Santiago, Madison Rosado, and Bryson Santiago. Fela is also survived by her great-great-granddaughter Leia Santiago. Fela was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Rafael Perez. She was also pre-deceased by her children, Ernesto Alfredo Ferrer, Angel Manuel Clemente, Rosa Elena Santiago and Jose Antonio Clemente and by her step-daughter Solvieg Denise Perez. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Memorials may be made to The National Kidney Foundation. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 13, 2018, 1:00PM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
