In 1985 she moved to Florida where she would live and finish raising her younger son, making Florida her home until her passing. Throughout her life she worked as an LPN in various settings. Gretchen was a loving mother of 2 and grandmother of 3. She enjoyed shopping and antiquing. Most of all, Gretchen adored her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them when she was able to.
She was predeceased in death by her father, William H. Edwards; mother, Gertrude H. Edwards; sister, Annette Wandrick; husband, Raymond Meadows; and son, Rodney C. Owens. She is survived by her son, Keith L. Owens, and grandchildren, William N. Owens, Matthew J. Owens, and Elizabeth A.C. Owens. The family would appreciate donations to the American Cancer Society in remembrance of Mom instead of flowers.
