Herbert V. “Herb” Restmeyer of Ormond Beach, 86, passed away on Tuesday, January 15 at AdventHealth Daytona Beach Hospital following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Frances (Doughaen); three children and seven grandchildren: son William and wife Christine of McKinney, TX and their children Eric, Lindsay, and Grant; daughter Lisa (Restmeyer) Lewis of Montville, NJ and husband Gary Lewis and their children Kayla and Alec; and son Daniel and wife Suzanne of Moorpark, CA and their children Nicole and Emily. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of William and Mildred (Hardman) Restmeyer. Mr. Restmeyer moved to Ormond Beach from Mendham, NJ 22 years ago upon retiring, was a member of the Plantation Bay Golf and Country Club, and until recently an active golfer. He also enjoyed bowling and boating, and the company of a large network of wonderful friends. He grew up in Weehawken, NJ, just outside of New York City, and earned an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Mr. Restmeyer started his career as an Accountant with CBS, and served as a financial executive with several major firms including Ingersoll Rand Company, and later as Chief Financial Officer of two joint-venture companies created with the former Dresser Industries, Dresser-Rand and Ingersoll-Dresser Pumps. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 20 at 12:00 PM at the Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach. Friends may visit at 11:00AM until time of the service.
