Today, my brother Ed and I along with my sister-in-law Lorraine and my husband Paul lost our beloved mother Ida Rose DiGiacomo Bertsch two months short of her 94th birthday. She was the proud grandmother of Jessica, Lauren, Brian, Kim, and Melissa and great grandma to 5 beautiful little ones.
She and my dad were the original power couple. They were the hosts of wonderful parties for family and friends. They retired to Florida in their early 60s and took many wonderful trips around the world and enjoyed their time in Palm Coast to the fullest. Mom loved her volunteer work at the hospital and was very proud of her 30 years of service. Ida and Ed could always be counted on to help their family and friends, and they were known for their generosity. Everyone thought it was my dad, but she was the one who made things happen. Ida missed Ed dearly over the 15 years that he’s been gone and was never really the same without him. So it is with peace that I know she is with him, her granddaughter Melissa, and her 6 siblings. I will Love you forever Mom. A memorial mass will be held in the very near future.
