

James A. Reardon Sr. passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026 in Daytona Beach, Florida at the age of 90. He was born on March 23,1936 to James Frank Reardon and Mary Bell (nee Johnson) in Brooklyn, New York. He married the love of his life, Catherine (nee Roesch) on September 13,1958 in Brooklyn, New York. They raised their family on Long Island until they retired and moved to Palm Coast, Florida in 1997.
Jim retired in 1992 after 26 years as a Police Officer with the New York City Police Department. An avid woodworker, artist and auto mechanic, he built many pieces of furniture over the years and also enjoyed camping with his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years as well as their daughter, Lucy Jean Pepe. He is survived by his children Cathie (Dave) Thornhill, Jim Jr. (partner Laurene) Reardon and Walter (Sharon) Reardon. He is also survived by his grandchildren John (Crystal) Pepe, Michael (partner Whitney) Pepe, Robert Pepe, Danny (partner Leighann) Thornhill, Ryan Thornhill, Thomas Reardon, Julie Reardon and step grandchildren Katy (fiancé Christian) Prior, John (partner Jessie) Prior, Erin (Jessie) Lane and Rebecca (Anthony) Teixeira. He was also the proud great grandfather of John and Christopher Pepe and step-great grandchildren Bella Seccadanari, Ryan Prior, Lydia Teixeira and Rory Lane. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
