Grandma, you would always tell me that I was the daughter you never gave birth to. And the truth is, you were the mother I always needed.
I truly believe that you were my soulmate. Our souls were forever sewn together, and although you are no longer physically here with me, your threads are still intact within my heart. Nothing, not even death, could undo a bond like ours.
My very existence was, in so many ways, because of you, from how I came into this world to the woman I have become today. You helped shape me. I have spent my life admiring you, learning from you, and seeing so much in you that I hope to carry within myself. Even now, you continue to give me strength. Every day, I hope to become a reflection of the woman I admired so deeply.
We were like two puzzle pieces that somehow fit perfectly together. You were the extrovert and I was the introvert, yet we complemented each other so naturally. We were like earth and water. different, but meant to meet, nurture one another, and create something beautiful together.
Having the privilege of caring for you and being beside you during the final chapter of your life is something I will carry with me forever. You cared for me, protected me, loved me, and made sure I knew I belonged. Being able to return even a fraction of that love was one of the greatest honors of my life.
There will never be another you, Grandma, and there will never be another bond quite like ours. I will miss your voice, your presence, our conversations, and simply knowing you were there. But I know pieces of you will continue to live through me.
You called me the daughter you never gave birth to, but I will forever be proud to call you my mother, my grandmother, my soulmate, and one of the greatest loves of my life.
Our souls are sewn together forever. Your thread remains in my heart, and I will carry you with me everywhere I go.
Until we find each other again, I love you always and forever.

Jean and I met many years ago. She was very instrumental in an organization raising funds for Trinidad and Tobago Diocesan Association in building a retreat house. Jean is also responsible for my sister’s improved quality of life. I had to decide to have a Pacemaker inserted but was not informed about the procedure and my sister was 84 years of age. .Jean explained the need for the Pacemaker and the benefits of having it. She calmed my fears and my sister is now 92 years of age and never experienced any problems related to the situation. I will forever be grateful to Jean and we became even closer friends. I am completely convinced that she has secured her place in Heaven and she will be remembered by all whose  lives she has interacted. 
You will always remain in my heart. God’s blessings and May your Soul Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory. 🙏🙏

Ever since i was a young child you were always my biggest supporter in all my endeavors. You gave me my first vinyl record (George Michael Faith Album),You introduced me to  the Epic of gilgamesh and the book of Enoch, you appreciated music as much as i did. 
You were always the one that brought the life and energy to down the island limes. 
I also will never forget the welcome you have me and my friends in 2002 when we showed up unexpectedly in Manhattan.
Sorry our attempt to meet in Florida didnt pan out but you will be missed dearly.

You were truly one of a kind and the best grandma one could ask for. You were fiercely loyal and protective of those you loved. I will miss our talks and scrabble games. I’m grateful that I was able to have you in my life as long as I was, and especially grateful that you got to hear of the birth of your great granddaughter, who shares your name. I love you and miss you so much.

I've known Jean continuously for over 3 decades and throughout that time she was unchanging. 

She held many Bible study groups and lived the message of the New Testament encouraging others to do the same by reading the word. Her speciality was St Paul and the early Christian church.

Jean especially helped people who had no agency and expected nothing in return. 

She had a flair for style and a sense of fun.

I was glad that she moved to Florida for the final chapter of her life, to be with nature and the sea that she loved so dearly. 

Thank you Jeannabel for taking care of her to the very end. You will be rewarded and Jean will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

For the past seven years, I have been blessed to know and love you. You were truly one of a kind, and I will forever be grateful that I had the chance to be part of your life.
 
At 93 years old, you had lived a long and beautiful life, and I feel honored that I and Jeannabel were able to care for you and be there for you till the end. One of the greatest memories I will always hold close to my heart is that you got to be there to see me & Jeannabel get married. Having you there to share that special moment with us meant more than words can express, and it is a memory we will always treasure. I’m also so grateful that you were here to meet our first child, Azula. I’m so happy you got to share that special moment with us. I will never forget it.
 
You were one of the most caring people I have ever known. Your kindness, your silliness, and simply having you around made our home feel like home. Now that you’re gone, there is an emptiness here that is hard to put into words. I will miss your presence, your personality, your silliness, and all the little things that made you who you were.
 
There will never be another person like you. You were truly one of a kind, and your memory will stay with us forever. Thank you for the love, laughter, and memories you gave us. I’m grateful for every moment I got to spend with you.

Owing to certain travesties, Jean was, at the end, more isolated than perhaps she ought to have been… Despite that however, she was never far from our thoughts, and her impression has, and will, stay with us always. 

Jean was a stoic, charitable, and exceptionally nonjudgemental woman - nurturing to all. I cannot imagine how many lives she blessed in her lifetime … it was nothing short of a privilege to have known her company.

Jean and I met in the early 80s in NYC at a company where we both worked. We became friends and never stopped being friends. We went to the theater, opera and ballet and Andrea Bocelli concerts with my son Matthew who adored her. She was fiercely intelligent and would beat anyone (including her son) at Scrabble. Jean and I spoke every day until she could not do that anymore. I will miss her but hold her in my heart always.
