Joan M. Elmer, 89, of Palm Coast, passed away on August 17, 2021. She was born on September 13, 1931 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Harvey and Lorraine Elmer (Best). She spent her successful working career as an entrepreneur. Upon her retirement she dedicated many years in service to her community, being active in the Keep A1A Beautiful, Johnson Memorial Church in the Hammock and The Volusia/Flagler County Turtle Patrol. Joan was a talented artist and was locally recognized for her expressive and lovely works of art in water color. Joan was a friend and protector of animals and often offered a home for animals whose owners were no longer able to care for them. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Joyce Harney. Survivors include her sister, Carol Konen and many loving nieces, nephews and extraordinary friends.
