John Berger, 83, of Palm Coast, FL passed away unexpectedly on February 13, 2021 at his home. He was born on July 20, 1937 in Jamaica, New York to the late Herman and May Berger (McGee). John was an electrical contractor his entire working career both for his family business and later he opened his own. In 2002 after his retirement he and his wife moved to the Palm Coast area. His memberships included the Italian American Social Club, Pine Lakes Country Club, Palm Harbor County Club and Cypress Knolls Country Club. John was an avid golfer who also enjoyed playing “Liars Poker” with his golf buddies. His interests also included swimming, boating, fishing and being in his yard planting flowers and bird watching. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and wonderful friend. John was preceded in death by his infant son, Michael Berger and son, Johnny Berger; brother, Herman Berger; sister, Joan Burnett. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Rose; children, Steven Berger and his fiancé Laura Tesdesco, Michelle and her husband Nick Calo; grandchildren, Alexa Berger, Nicolas Calo, Johnathan Calo, Andrew Calo, Sarah Calo; step-grandchildren, Alyssa Tedesco and Samantha Tedesco and many more loving nieces and nephews relatives and good friends. Last but not least his pet bird, “Willie”. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriners Hospital for Children or Wounded Warriors Project. A memorial mass will be held at a later date in Bayville, New York.
