
John Kasper Schalk of Bunnell, Florida passed away suddenly on August 11, 2023 at his home. He was born on January 26, 1942 in Warren, Michigan to the late Kasper and Gladys Schalk. John served in the United States Air Force stateside during the Vietnam Conflict. After his honorable discharge from the military he then began his career as a Structural Steel Detailer, after 40 years in the industry he retired in 2008. John always loved sports and he supported his children in any way possible, he umpired little league and high school baseball; Pop-Warner and high school football and at one time volunteered at the Little League World Series in Cooperstown, New York.
A little later in life he served as the president and secretary of various bowling leagues over the years at Ormond Lanes. John will always be remembered for the love and devotion he had for his family and friends. Donations in his memory may be made to The Wounded Warriors Project. He was preceded in death by his step-son, James Gilmer Schalk in 1976; sister, Freda Bourque in 1992. Survivors include his son, Scott (Melinda) Schalk; former step children Tom Adam, and Lisa Noll; grandchildren, Amber Schalk and James Schalk; great-grandchildren, Adriana Schultz, Lexy Schultz, Isabella Schisel, Ellianna Schalk; former spouses, Judith Schalk and Debbie Cardoza; Nephews Gary, Ronnie, and Steve Bourque; nieces Renee Scepka, Noel Burke, Kerri Bourque Bonga, Karen Bourque, and Michelle Bourque Fink and many more loving relatives and wonderful friends.
