Josephine T. (Jodi) Waters Baxley was born on October 5, 1933 in Boston, Massachusetts to Stephen and Helen Waters. She graduated from Adams School in Lexington, Massachusetts in 1950. Jodi fought valiantly for many years against the disease of cancer and became a great example of faith while suffering with this disease. The Lord called her home on April 6, 2021.
She was employed at Digital Equipment Corporation making circuit boards as she always enjoyed working with her hands. Later in life, she also worked at GNC for many years, starting out as a Clerk and working her way up as Assistant Manager and Store Manager. In 1982, while working at a gift shop in Daytona Beach, she met and later married, Bill Baxley, in June of 1984.
She enjoyed sewing and making clothes, drawing, wall papering, writing poems and cooking for family and friends. Her ministry unto The Lord was the magnificent banners that she made for the churches she attended, First Baptist Church, Bunnell and First Baptist Church, Palm Coast. She also served in the Greeter Ministry, using her infectious smile and energetic personality to welcome those attending worship services.
She was pre-deceased by her first-born son, John S. Dattoli and youngest son, Randall E. Dattoli. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Bill; brother, Stephen Waters; children, Wayne Dattoli (Arlene), David Dattoli, Patti Wentworth (Michael), Chuck Baxley (Glenda), Cathy Baxley, Crystal Pelletier (Jake), and Candace Stephenson. Also, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the absolute love and joy of her heart.
