Lawrence (Larry) Cistrelli, of Palm Coast, FL, passed away on June 22, 2018 after a brief illness. Larry was 97-years and 10-months old. Larry was born In Elizabeth, NJ to Nicholas and Filomena Cistrelli. He was the oldest of five brothers: Joseph (deceased), Nicholas (deceased), Francis (Sluggo) (deceased), and Henry (Elizabeth, NJ). His sister, Loretta, predeceased him as a child. Larry was a veteran who served in the US Navy during WWII. He worked for forty-two years at Simmons Mattress factory in Elizabeth, NJ. He also was an expert car mechanic. In 1945, he married Mary Yenelavage. Larry and Mary were married for 73 years and had four children together. Larry is survived by Mary and their children and their spouses: Lawrence (Gale) Cistrelli Jr., Loretta (Ric) Edinger, Robert (Peggye) Cistrelli, and Marie Cistrelli. Larry is also survived by his grandson, Aaron Cistrelli, Aaron’s wife, Parastoo, and their daughter, Sienna.
Larry had a large extended family and was the proud uncle of many nieces and nephews.
In his retirement years, Larry’s greatest pleasures were visiting with his children, eating out at area restaurants, rooting for the NY Yankees, watching horse racing, and collecting elephant figurines. The elephant collection began with a carved elephant that Larry purchased in India during The War.
A private funeral is planned.
