Affectionately known as Manny, he was born on January 25, 1929, in Lisbon, Portugal. Proud of his Portuguese heritage, Manny remained deeply connected to his community throughout his life. He was an early founding member of the Portuguese American Social Club of Palm Coast, Florida, and previously a devoted member of the Sons of Portugal Club of Danbury, Connecticut, reflecting his lifelong commitment to culture, fellowship, and service.
Manny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice; his son Joseph, his brother, Joseph; and his grandson, Matthew.
He is survived by his son, Robert Marques of Cary, North Carolina, Robert’s wife Lori, and their daughter Michelle of Laurel Springs, NJ. He is also survived by his brother, Albaro Marques of Lisbon, Portugal.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no public service; his memory will be cherished quietly by family and friends.
