Marchette Aliane Thomas 55, of Palm Coast passed away suddenly on November 18, 2018. She was born on July 17, 1963 in Washington, D.C. to Dr. Harold A. Thomas and Ethel Elaine Thomas. Marchette was the oldest of two children, her brother Harold Arthur Thomas Jr. preceded her in death at an early age. Her early education was in the catholic school system. However, she was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Washington D.C. where she faithfully attended Sunday school. Marchette earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English & Math at Howard University. She began playing in the piano in the third grade and being “Daddy’s Girl”, her father bought her a baby grand piano that she still has to this day. In 1990 she relocated to Palm Coast with her parents. Marchette then relocated to Jacksonville, Florida for employment purposes. She worked with Blue Cross & Blue Shield for 15 years. Marchette was a substitute teacher in the Jacksonville School System and she also taught evening computer classes to the elderly. She was a wonderful and loving daughter. After the passing of her father, she and her mother developed a special bond and they did everything together. Their favorite activities were traveling, shopping and going out to restaurants. Survivors include her Mother, Ethel Elaine Thomas; Son, Arthur Leon Thomas (Amanda) Thomas; grandchild, Tristan Thomas; Aunts, Carrie Hardgrove and Mattie Arrington; Cousins, Ethel (Eugene) Weaver, Janice Hardgrove, Rene Arrington, Latonya Weaver and many more loving relatives and friends. A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, December 8, 1:00PM at St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Flagler County, 5400 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast Florida. Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
