Marion A. Handschur, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Community Hospice and Palliative Care at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of Mary E. Maus and Frank A. Maus and the widow of Henry Handschur. She and Hank moved to Florida in 1994 after their retirement. She then spent many happy years boating and being a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, taking up golf, kayaking, and later pole walking and yoga, and throughout her adult life gardening and her activities with the Garden Club. A lover of God’s creation, she also enjoyed traveling with friends to most of the National Parks and scenic spots in the USA. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Law and her husband Frederick, of Dartmouth, MA; her niece, Carolyn Law of New York City; her nephew, Frederick Law Jr. of Rhode Island; and her many friends who were like family to her. Visitation will be held Friday, June 22 from 2-5 p.m. at the Craig Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road, Flagler Beach. Her funeral will be held Saturday, June 23 at 4 p.m. at the Shepherd of the Coast Lutheran Church, 101 Pine Lakes Parkway S, Palm Coast. Her ashes will be interred later in the family plot at Nassau Knolls Cemetery on Long island. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in her memory may be made to American Cancer Society Hope Lodge 2121 SW 16th S, Gainesville, FL; the Alpha Women’s Center,4751 East Moody Blvd Bldg.5, Bunnell, FL, or the VFW, Palm Coast, FL.
