

Mary Jane Cook, 89, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, following a brief illness. She was born October 12, 1936 in Erie Pennsylvania, daughter of Samuel Riddell Lewis and Christine (Harvey) Lewis.
Mary Jane graduated from Saint Benedict High School in Erie Pennsylvania. Many years later she earned a bachelor degree from Stephen College in Missouri and a master’s degree from Gannon University, Erie Pennsylvania.
Mary Jane was the director of medical records at Milcreek Community Hospital for many years and at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London Connecticut for 10 years.
She loved working on genealogy. Along with doing work for friends, she accumulated over 600 pages of genealogy for her own family ancestry. Mary Jane loved to travel, including various cruises and to different countries. She also enjoyed her pets.
Mary Jane loved her family and time spent with them, especially visits from her sons and her grandchildren. But mostly, she loved her Lord. She enjoyed reading the Bible and devotionals.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband Joseph C Cook, her son Joseph R Cook and her grandson John D Cook. She will be greatly missed by sons Kevin M Cook (Laura), Timothy J Cook (Todd Jarvis) and Christopher S Cook (Joanne Valante), 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and her best friend Sherry L White.
