Jean was born in Presque Isle, Maine on August 10, 1944 to parents Joseph O’Neil and Marie Albertine (Cyr) Grivois. She was one of 8 children; predeceased by husband, Francis Crotto, sisters Verna O’Connell, Joan Grivois, Sharon Swiek and brother Gary Grivois; survived by brother Nelson Grivois of Stafford Springs, CT sisters Tina Grivois of Winterport, ME and Nita Therriault of Presque Isle, ME.
Jean graduated from Presque Isle High School, class of 1963. Her professional years were spent in accounting. Jean spent her retired years traveling between their family camp in Hartland, Maine and winter home in Palm Coast, Florida, following the Bingo circuit wherever she went. Jean created a home in each town to welcome family for good food and great laughter; her best times were spent surrounded by family.
Jean will join her husband, Fran Crotto, at Jacksonville National Cemetery, whom she was married to for 49 years. Jean was described as “spunky” and a “spitfire” through her final days; a legacy that will live on in her devoted sons Jeffrey Crotto, of Jacksonville, FL and Jason Crotto (Kristin) of Fernandina Beach, FL.
At Jean’s request, the family will have a small graveside service at Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House in Palm Coast, Florida.
