We had many wonderful holidays together over the years
One of Aunt Merilyns favorite Thanksgiving was when she could no longer
Come to our home and she wanted a Big Mac

So we sat around her table eating Big Macs and chocolate shakes
Always laughter and so much love

Love you always

My name is Sandy Patterson and my family met Merilyn about 15 or 20 years ago through a mutual friend.
We would visit her every week and grew very close to Merilyn. She was a very kind, generous, loving , spiritual person and we had many interesting conversations. She loved talking about her life and we were fascinated by and really enjoyed her stories. She had quite a full life.
She loved talking about Chuck ( her husband) and we loved hearing her stories. She was very fortunate that Chucks family considered, loved and treated her as their own. She appreciated them and loved them dearly.
We (Jehovah’s Witnesses) developed a close loving relationship with her over the years and both she and all of us considered her part of our Spiritual family.
I personally will miss her warm smile and big hugs I always got when visiting her.
I’m sad that she’s gone for now but we shared the promise Jesus gave us about his resurrecting us all at a future time and then we’ll all be together again. Until then we’ll remember her and enjoy our special memories and look forward to the time we’ll be together again. What a joyful reunion we’ll have. We love you Merilyn and know you’re resting in peace waiting for the fulfillment of all those wonderful promises we learned about from the Bible. It was a pleasure and a privilege knowing and loving this wonderful woman.

Merilyn was dear to my heart. She was my loving aunt and we had many wonderful conversation over the years. We were both artists and she loved to see my artwork.
My favorite memory of Merilyn occurred when I was 10. I was an overnight guest at her house and the next morning woke up on her living room sofa crying. Her response was to quickly bring me into the kitchen and put a slice of bread in the toaster. Then she reached up overhead into the cabinet and brought down a big jar of peanut butter. When the toast popped up she immediately started swirling on the peanut butter. Then the unexpected happened: peanut butter quickly spread on hot toast actually glistens. Then she said “Isn’t that Magic?!” I laughed. She was so kind to me. Compassionate Merilyn.
I waited 30 years to remind her of the event and from that time on every one of my future visiting arrivals there was a jar of peanut butter awaiting me on her kitchen counter top.
Aunt Merilyn is my Guardian Angel.
