Miriam “Nan” Israel 92, of Palm Coast, Florida passed away on June 23, 2018 at her home. She was born on December 9, 1925 in Norwich, England to the late Walter and Dorothy Kate Thorpe (Tacon). Miriam was a proud G.I. war bride and dedicated herself to her home and family. She enjoyed sewing and knitting items for great-grandchildren that loved to wear her sweaters. Miriam was preceded in death by her husband Edward J. Israel in 2008; daughter, Janice Israel in 2014; sisters, Linda Farthing and Enid Johnson. Survivors include her daughter, Enid (Edward) Maiocchi; grandchildren, Stephen Maiocchi, Chris Ragazzo; great-grandchildren, Stephen Jr., Chris Jr., Anthony and Isabella. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Jacksonville National Cemetery in the near future.
