Patricia Vath, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away peacefully at home on May, 2, 2026. She was surrounded by her loving family. We all rest assured that she will be remembered, and welcomed into heaven with open arms by her Lord and Creator.
Patricia Vath was born to Ida and Charles Turkowsky on January 10th, 1942 at Christ Hospital in Jersey City, N.J. She spent her early childhood in West New York, N.J. After attending Memorial High School in West New York, N.J., she went on to become a bank teller in Union City, N.J. It was there, through a mutual friend, she met Ron Vath. Coincidentally, Ron was working part time near her workplace while he was attending college.
Their relationship turned serious and they were married on August 12, 1961 in Union City, N.J. As time went on, Pat gave birth to their first of three children, the first a girl they named Robyn. Ron graduated as a Mechanical engineer and they continued living in rented spaces in New Jersey until they proudly purchased their first home in Pompton Lakes, N.J. That community became their first truly permanent home. In the intervening years since their marriage, two additional children were born, Sharon and Sheryl.
While in Pompton Lakes, Pat joined the Volunteer Fire Fighter's Ladies Auxiliary and faithfully served the community for many years while Ron served as a volunteer Fire Fighter. It became obvious that Pat relished her time as a volunteer; she helped many folks during that period. Concurrently the girls attended and graduated from Pompton Lakes High School while Pat and Ron moved to another, larger home in Pompton Lakes.
As her girls married and started families of their own, Pat and Ron decided to move to Florida in 1990. Through a mutual friend's recommendation they chose Flagler Beach, Fl. It wasn't long after arriving in Flagler Beach that her penchant for volunteerism took on a life of its own. In 1999, she became a volunteer in Florida Hospital Flagler and served for 26 years. She completed her Florida Hospice Care Training Program in 2009 and continued in her service until she became physically prohibited to continue in 2025, 16 years. She also was a volunteer for 10 years for the Flagler Beach Methodist Church Women's Group.
During her service period she helped innumerable people and brought kind solace with her easy going manner and natural giving personality. People were naturally drawn to her. She made many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ida and Charles Frederick Turkowsky, her sibling Joan DiNapoli (Dominick) and her grandson, Michael Ronald Boback.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Ronald W. Vath, her daughters, Robyn Boback, Sharon Nann (Kenneth) and (Joseph Dominick) Sheryl Pozzuoli. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to John Boback, Jr., Laura Gough, Samantha Thomas, Daniel Nann, Jessica Loeffler and Emily Loeffler. She adored her Great Grandchildren, Nash, Cole, Jace, Anthony, Michael, Joseph, Juniper, Holden and Leo.
A celebration Gathering will be held at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, FL 32136 on May 16, 2026 from 11:00 am to 12:00pm. A celebration of Life will follow at the same location beginning at 12 pm. The family requests casual beach town attire to be worn in her honor.
