Richard Robert Cordasci, age 68, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday January 26th, 2026 with John N. and Elizabeth Cordasci at his side. Although successfully beating cancer twice, his overall health had continued to decline over the most recent year. He took his final breath knowing how deeply he was loved.
Born on April 15th in Brooklyn, NY. Richard was the son of John P. and Lily Cordasci. From an early age, he was known for his kindness, generosity, and big heart, qualities that remained throughout his life.
He spent most of his early life in NY and moved to Florida in 1997 after meeting his girlfriend Charlene. Throughout his life he had many different jobs. Most notably, he loved to talk about his time building pools here in Florida.
After the loss of the love of his life, Charlene, in 2013, Richard moved back with his parents, dedicating his time to family, and his faith. He loved helping out at the Humane Society where he adopted his cherished dog companion Delyla.
He enjoyed fishing at the Flagler pier (when it was open), walking his dog, and Saturday mornings at Dunkin’ Donuts… mostly liking to be out in public talking with and meeting new people.
“Uncle Ricky” was an integral part in the lives of his brother John’s children, John Anthony and Carmela, helping watch and care for them daily since the day they each were born.
Above all, Richard cherished his many nieces and nephews. He had a unique way of making people feel loved, and his presence brought comfort, laughter, and warmth to everyone around him.
Richard is survived by parents John P. and Judith Cordasci, sister Rosemarie DiGennaro, and brother John N. Cordasci. “Uncle Ricky” is also survived by nieces Maria, Giovanna, Mercedes, Carmela, and nephew John Anthony… and further by grand nieces and nephews Eliana, Parker, Christian, Oliver, and Madison. He was preceded in death by nephew Antonio DiGennaro and long time love, Charlene Hartt.
In lieu of a ceremony, Richard’s wish upon passing was simply to be cremated and ashes spread in the same area alongside where Richard himself had spread his beloved Charlene’s ashes.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Flagler Humane Society, or “acts of kindness in Richard’s memory.”
Though Richard is no longer with us in body, his love, kindness, and spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
