

Richard J. Lermen, age 68, died on October 14, 2023 at Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. He was born on March 9, 1955 to his father, Walter and mother, Kyoko (Nakata) Lermen in Sagamihara, Japan. He married Cynthia (Williams) Lermen on February 28, 1992 in Lake Worth, Florida.
Richard built his lifelong career in both personal home security and industrial security applications as a locksmith. For the past thirty-one years. Richard has diligently worked for Village Key & Alarm in St. Augustine, Florida. His personal achievements there gained him the love and respect of many of his coworkers and managers. The mentorship he provided, both professionally and personally, significantly impacted those around him. These people continued to support him in his last days and are greatly appreciated by the family Richard left behind.
Above his career, Richard loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He regularly volunteered at Hammock First Baptist Church by operating the sound system during services and performing duties as a Deacon of the church. He assisted in hosting several community outreach events, including car shows, fundraisers, Easter egg hunts, Nativities, Trunk-or-Treat, and Feed Flagler. His passion for community was felt deeply by those around him.
Richard is predeceased by his father, Walter and his mother, Kyoko Lermen. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia, sons, Noah (Samantha) and Zachary Lermen, and brother James McNamara.
There will be a Church Visitation at Hammock First Baptist Church on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 1pm-3:30pm with a Funeral Service at 3:30pm. Arrangements are made in the trust and care of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
