Ronald “Ron” Roberts 82, of Palm Coast, Florida passed away on December 24, 2018 at The Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. He was born on July 12, 1936 in Barrow-In-Furness, England to the late Arthur Roberts Sr. and Violet May Roberts (Lewis). Moving to Canada he raised a loving family and, working for Bell Canada, would tell you it was he who invented mobile phone networking. Upon moving to the United States he continued his work in telecommunications and mobile networking with Nortel. When he retired to Palm Coast he led a quiet and simple life enjoying nature and his days close to the ocean and, surprisingly, never owned his own mobile phone. Survivors include his cherished wife of 30 years, Elizabeth Ann; loving children, Terry (Romaine) Roberts, Stephen (Michele) Roberts, Debbie Roberts (Rob Whelan), Janet (Graham) Illingworth, Tony (Judi) Roberts, Elizabeth (Bruno) Robitaille; 18 amazing grandchildren; 3 wonderful great-grandchildren; esteemed brother, Arthur Roberts; treasured sister Beverly (Howard) Ferguson. Donations in his memory may be made to American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
