Saverio Joseph Loiacono

Saverio Joseph Loiacono died peacefully on March 3, 2025 at Advent Health in Palm Coast, Florida. He was 83 years old. The family is deeply saddened by his death. Affectionately known as “Sonny”, Saverio was born on September 18, 1941.

Sonny is survived and missed by his loving wife Camille of 37 years; and his children, Joseph, Michael (Lisa) and Anthony (Christina). Forever cherished and remembered by his seven grandchildren, Anthony Jr. (Vanessa), Amber (Kyle), Austin (Rosalinda), Dustin (Maureen), Saverio (Kristen), Alexandria (Timothy) and Hailey; by his two great-grandchildren, Saverio and Wyatt; his sister Sara (Thomas) and his brother-in-law Nick (Geri).

His memory lives on with his many nieces and nephews; Thomas (Janine), Mary (Bart), Rose (Robert), Maura (Charles), Regina (Paul), Nicholas (Jennifer), Christopher (Teresa), Melissa (Gregory), and all of their respective children.

Sonny was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Anna Loiacono.

He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and went to college at Saint Peters University, also in Jersey City. Sonny spent most of his career working for ITT in New York City and retired in 1996. An avid Yankees, Giants, Rangers and Knicks fan, Sonny enjoyed cruises with his family and friends, playing cards with family and friends, Saturday night church service and dinner, and mostly spending time with the love of his life Camille.

Sonny was a member of The Italian American Social Club of Palm Coast, Florida for approximately 30 years, where he served various director positions including President from 2006 – 2007.

A memorial service will be held at 9:00 am Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Saint Anastasia Catholic Church in St Augustine, Florida where Sonny was a long-time member. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
