Stuart was born on January 21, 1948, in Pennsylvania to Charles and Mildred Rockett. He was raised in Flagler Beach, where at the age of 12 he met the love of his life, Sharyn Abraham. They married in 1969, and their 57-year marriage stands as a beautiful testament to lifelong love and partnership. Together, they created a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Stuart proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard for 4 years before graduating from Florida Technical University (now the University of Central Florida) in 1973. He went on to build a successful career for 30+ years as a Controller for ITT/Lowe Enterprises, where he was respected for his dedication and professionalism.
After spending five years commuting from New Smyrna Beach, Stuart and Sharyn returned to their hometown of Flagler Beach in 1982 to be closer to family and to raise their daughter in the community they loved.
Stuart lived a life defined by fun, kindness, strength, humor, and a deep love for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his greatest pride was always his family.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sharyn; his daughter and son-in-law, Katrina and Mark Jackson; and his grandchildren, Emily (Jordan) Kacko, Stuart (Kaelyn) Jackson, and Audrey Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those who knew Stu will remember how much fun he was to be around—how deeply he loved his family and friends, and how he never met a stranger. Known for his quick wit, generosity, kindness, and his fondness for a cold Miller Lite, Stu had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 19 at Craig Flagler Palms, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m., with the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to AdventHealth Hospice Care East Florida Foundation. https://pro.gofundme.com/give/483743/#!/donation/checkout
Stu will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love. May he rest in peace, and may his memory inspire all who knew him to cherish life and find joy in every moment.
