Terry Lynette Skaggs passed away on March 3, 2022 at the age of 61, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She would have been 62 in a few short months, her birthday being on June 24th, 1960. She was surrounded by her family and close friends at the residence of long time friend Donald Moyer of Palm Coast, FL. Surviving Terry is her mother, Beverly Walker, daughter Melissa Lentz, son in law Brien Lentz, grandson Joey Reid, granddaughter Ella (Gabby) Reid, and grandson Abel Lentz. At 3:41pm, as the chaplain was leaning over her and reciting the Lord’s Prayer, she took her last breath and passed in to Eternity. Waiting to greet her in the next life were her father Paul A. Walker, her husband James Wesley Skaggs Jr, and her son James Wesley Skaggs III. The first 56 years of her life were spent in Colorado, she was born in Denver and lived and worked in various areas of the state until she moved to Florida in 2016. She retired from Labcorp as a medical laboratory technician before moving to Florida. At first she was retiring to the Tampa area but then landed in Ormond Beach, at the Bear Creek Community, where she was currently residing. The marriage anniversary for Terry and her late husband, Jimmy, was just over three weeks away, being on March 25, 1979. Terry and her husband were avid motorcyclists and had been to Sturgis and many other motorcycle events over the years. They participated in many charities involving motorcycle activities as well. At a young age Terry was very active, she learned to ride a bike at age 4, started bowling at age 5, and received a pair of roller skates for Christmas at age 11 and challenged everyone to a race! She was a prolific reader and did all of her own laundry and ironing before she was a teenager. At one point when her father had been laid off Terry went out and paid the household utility bills with her tip money, without conferring with her parents. It was well known to all her friends and family that Terry was a “clean freak” or “workaholic” her whole life and kept her house impeccable! This was a big advantage during her work career! Her hobbies consisted of, bowling, gambling, motorcycling, reading, and listening to George Straight, whom she loved! Terry stipulated that she did not want a formal memorial service, her cremorial services are being handled by Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home located in Palm Coast, FL. She will be missed and well remembered, we can only pray that we are as courageous and generous as she was in the example and way she led in her life.
