Trevor Anthony Pinnock, affectionately known as "The Son of Waldron " passed away on March 10th, 2025, in Palm Coast, Florida, at the age of 87. His life was a testament to creativity, resilience, and an unwavering love for family and friends.
Trevor was Born on July 15th , 1937, in the Parish of Manchester, Jamaica to Waldron and Amy Pinnock. As a young adult his journey took him across continents in pursuit of knowledge and opportunity. He earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business and Needle Trades/Art from Regent Street Polytechnic Institute in London, UK. Trevor’s passion for fashion led him to co-found "JPD Fashions" alongside his two dear friends, Johnny and Sam. The company specialized in evening gowns and attire—what Trevor fondly referred to as "After 5" fashion.
In 1977, Trevor migrated to the United States, where he became a respected figure in New York’s fashion district. As Head Patternmaker, he played a pivotal role in supervising production teams, overseeing everything from initial sketches to final fittings, ensuring impeccable quality and fit. His expertise extended to collaborating with fellow designers and working with major retail buyers in developing private label products. His keen eye for detail and dedication to craftsmanship were undeniable.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Trevor had a deep appreciation for nature and took great pride in his planting and gardening. Whether designing garments or building desks, shelves, and cabinets from scratch, he found joy in bringing ideas to life. Music was another great love—he embraced all genres but had a special fondness for reggae, especially Bob Marley. No gathering was complete without him leading everyone in singing "One Love." His dancing was legendary; his unique footwork and rhythm were unmatched.
Trevor’s warmth extended far beyond his talents. He was a loving & devoted husband to Loraine for over 48 years and a dedicated father to Wade, Dawn, Andrea, and Candace. He cherished his son-in-law Andre and adored his grandchildren Brianna, Christopher, and Amber. His siblings Lorraine (Yvonne), Carole (Dolly), Marilyn, and Locksley (Rocky) held a special place in his heart, as did his siblings Glanville (Alty), Daphne, Glinton (Junior) and James (Jimmy) who preceded him in death. He also shared a close bond with his sisters-in-law Grace and Mavis and his love radiated outwards to countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A true conversationalist with an amazing sense of humor, Trevor had a gift for storytelling that could brighten any room. He valued his family and friendships deeply and encouraged those around him to always strive for their best. He often reminded others that "bad days are just bad days—not a bad life" and that "every day you get up is a blessing; so, every day should be a celebration."
Trevor Anthony Pinnock lived life vibrantly—with love, laughter, creativity, and an unshakable belief in the blessing and beauty of each new day. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew him. May his legacy bring comfort to those who loved him most.
