

Born in Hinesville, Georgia on December 6, 1948, and grew up in Ludowici, Georgia. He attended and graduated from Long County High School in 1966. Warren attended Georgia Southern College and received his bachelor’s degree from Armstrong State College in Savannah, Georgia.
After an extensive accounting career with Union Camp / International Paper, he retired in 2010. He was very active in the Shriners Hospitals for Children Organization. He was a member of the Landrum Lodge F&AM Lodge 48, Scottish Rite and became a Shriner in June 1991.
He was President of the Oriental Band in 1994-1995, and received the Merit Jewell Award in 1998 and elected as Illustrious Sir Warren Brown, Potentate of Alee Shriners in 2003.
One of his greatest passions in life was his involvement with the Alee Shrine Temple. He was Past Potentate and a member of numerous units, clubs and organizations in his many years as a Shriner, including the Jesters, Oriental Band and the Pirates to name a few. He was an Emeritus member of the Board of Governors of Shriners Hospitals for Children-Tampa. He held multiple honorary memberships in all the Temples in Georgia and surrounding area and States. He loved his Shriner Brothers and enjoyed spending time with them.
In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and golfing, which always resulted in having fun as opposed to how well he did. Later years, he enjoyed boating and the woodworking projects he was proud of. Warren was an avid traveler and loved having trips planned many months in advance, if not multiples at times.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Marlin and Laurice Brown, his brother Marlin “Buck” Brown Jr., and his sister Mable Clary.
He is survived by his wife Kathy (Katherine) Brown; Warren Wesley Brown Jr., (Donna); Angela McKay (Brian); and Matthew Moody (Valerie) and his 2 estranged children, Kenneth Brown and Danielle Brown. He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, 2 granddogs, 2 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Warren’s life will be held at the home he loved and enjoyed on Saturday, December 7th from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.
