Zinaida (Zina) Olkovetsky, 76, of Palm Coast, entered into rest on December 4, 2023. Zinaida Poizner was born May 9, 1947 in Odessa, Ukraine to Noam and Faina Poizner. She was named after her beloved uncle, Zindle, who heroically lost his life during World War II. Zina graduated from Odessa Musical Conservatory in 1968 and began teaching piano to students. She studied languages at Nikolaev, Ukraine in 1970. She married the love of her life, Michael Olkovetsky, on February 20, 1971. The family then emigrated to America in 1976. In 1976, Zina pursued her passion for technology and enrolled at New York University for computer programming. Her dedication and brilliance led her to a successful career as a computer programmer, contributing her skills to renowned companies such as Nabisco, MetLife, and IBM. Zina, Michael and their family lived in New Jersey until Michael and Zina made the decision to move to Florida in 2005.
Zina is survived by her loving husband, Michael Olkovetsky, her daughter and son-in-law, Sana Mantell and Adam Mantell, her son, David Olkovetsky, her grandchildren, Sophia and Moses Mantell, and many other family and friends who loved her dearly.
Zina’s life was marked by a deep commitment to her family, and her love for them knew no bounds. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a caring grandmother, and a cherished friend. Zina’s warm spirit and caring nature endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 10am-11am at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home with a Funeral Service at 11am and an inurnment to follow in Flagler Memorial Gardens.
Zina’s legacy lives on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to share in her life’s journey. Zina will be remembered for her intelligence, her unwavering strength, and the kindness she extended to others.
