Cecil C. Castro

Mr. Cecil C. Castro of Moulton passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the age of 83. Mr. Castro was born February 25, 1927 in Moulton to the late Merced and Inocencia (Sifuentes) Castro. He was a member of Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Moravia, Knights of Columbus, and American Legion. Mr. Castro was an Air Force Veteran of WWII. Mr. Castro owned a Saddle & Shoe shop in Flatonia for 35 years. Mr. Castro is survived by his wife (of 60 years) Mary (Jewel) Castro of Schulenburg, three sister-in-laws, one brother-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Castro is preceded in death by parents, six brothers: Jose Castro, Eusebio (Savior) Castro, Hilario (Adolf) Castro, Frank (Domingo) Castro, Florentino (Floyd) Castro, and Ernest Castro; and four sisters: Ponciana Fernandez, Jesusa Martinez, Trinidad Nieto, and Georgia Delgado. Visitation will be 10:00 am Friday, October 29, 2010 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Flatonia. Rosary will be 6:30 pm Friday, October 29, 2010 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Flatonia. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia with Rev. Joe Hybner officiating. Burial will follow at Moulton City Cemetery in Moulton, Texas. Pallbearers are Robert Castro, Roy Castro, Steve Nieto, Ernest Gomez Jr., Carlos Orosco, Carlos Orosco Jr., Frank Castro Jr.(Sonny), and Jimmy Lehde.
