We are a group of woman called The Wild Hoggettes riding our motorcycles up to the Cistern Store from the Houston area.  Immediately we made a connection with Jack.  He was so full of life telling great stories of his younger years. He told so many jokes, that just kept us laughing. A man is a good man when you know he was taking care of his wife till the day his life ended. Jack had a good heart with a handsome smile. He will be missed but alway remembered because Jack made you laugh, and laughing is good.

Jackie and I were so sorry to hear of Jack's death.  We enjoyed the times he stopped to visit "over the fence" and the help he gave us with the cattle.  We will miss his great smile and laugh.

My deepest sympathy goes to the family. He was an absolutely wonderful man. He could make you laugh at the drop of a hat! He brightened the room whenever he walked in! I will miss his jokes, his laugh, and his singing! I'll miss you Jack.

Our deepest sympathy to Jack's family. We met Jack about a year ago at the Country Store in Cistern, and enjoyed visiting with him and listening to him play the guitar and sing. We went to Columbus on April 30th of this year, and took the long way home back to Giddings through Cistern to see Jack at the Country Store. Sure enough he was there. We had a great visit and he played and sang for us. It was a privilege and an honor that God let us meet him. Rest in peace "Captain".

Jack was a very special man and a very special friend. He was one of the first people we met when we moved to this area and he and my husband Brad hit it off immediately because of their love of music. Brad will miss picking guitar and telling jokes with this very special man. God now has a singing angel with him in heaven. Jack will always remain in our hearts and our many wonderful memories of him. We pray that God's angels of comfort surround your family with love and comfort during this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear about Papa Jack.  Mom and I just saw him about a month ago.  We were eating in Flatonia and he was eating there also...He  shared some old stories about growing up and how things were back then.  He talked about Virginia his wife...He said "some folks say how can you go visit her everyday when she doesn't know you" and he said "they don't understand she was my best friend and he talked about how good Virginia was to him way back when even before they were married"  it was so sweet.  I really enjoyed listening to him and he showed us his new truck...May God have mercy on His sweet precious soul! and May God give you all His peace, His strength and His love during this difficult time!!!

To the Family of Jack -

I pray for the strength of each and everyone of you during this time. My husband and  I visited a few months back with Jack at the Cistern Country Store, and listened to him sing and play his guitar.  He was musically talented, and did not know a stranger.  May GOD welcome him home.

Jack, you were one of a kind. We will certainly miss your singing, jokes and your very witty comments about everything. Our deepest sympathy and prayers to all of the family. You will never be forgotten.
