2021, in Brooke Army Medical Center i n San Antonio. Mary was born in Praha on December 18, 1925, to Anton & Cecilia (Kubenka) Masek. She was the third child and only girl of five children.
Mary married Adolph C. Jasek of Praha on October 15, 1946, in Praha. They settled on
Adolph’s parent’s f arm in the Praha area, raising nine children. She enjoyed cooking and baking. As a result, her home often smelled of freshly baked goods. Building puzzles, gardening, and sewing were among some of her other favorite activities. She loved to read through the local newspapers, collecting articles and pictures f or the family’s numerous scrapbooks. Throughout the day, Mary would make and receive phone calls from family and friends. She would mix Czech into her calls when she didn’t want her eavesdropping grandkids to know what was being said in the conversation.
Besides being a dedicated wife and loving mother and grandmother, she was a life-long member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Praha. She always looked forward to Saturday evening Mass. She was also a member of KJZT Society #4 in Praha.
